Ted Takes Vegas!

British lifestyle brand, Ted Baker London, launched its new store yesterday at Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. My editor Steven and I were invited to a private breakfast to preview the collection, and were absolutely stunned. We stumbled out their doors with new obsessions already formed. The Road to Nowhere dress lead us on a journey we didn’t mind getting lost in one bit, with its colors singing on a stage of neoprene, and it’s print like the illustrations of a C. S. Lewis novel.

There were treasures upon treasures to be had, hiding in fixtures throughout, and even in the lapels of men’s jackets.

The store design takes inspiration from traditional British gambling and the contemporary glamour of Las Vegas. Bespoke fixtures in-store reference gaming tables and poker chips; an array of smoked glass mirrors transport one to a period of decadence.

As an ode to the fine art of gambling, the cash desk has been transformed into a big game of ‘chance’ containing a sculpture of 3,000 dice that will leave your head spinning. Everywhere you turn you’ll feel like you’re sitting at the table ready for the next hand.

The store opens with Ted’s Autumn Winter 2014 womenswear, menswear and accessories collections. Ted’s illustrious womenswear collection combines vintage inspired floral prints and ultra-feminine silhouettes to make heads turn.

For this season Ted has also choreographed the perfect coupling of lux joggers and bomber jackets with pops of neon pinks.

Ted’s menswear collection takes us on a journey down the Nile on an adventure with jewel tones of burgundy, emerald green and lively oranges throughout knitwear and chinos.

Fresh detailing and modern finishes add a cool touch to a strong collection of jacquards and prints.

Special gifts, games and giveaways will continue in-store throughout grand opening weekend. Runway shows are from 12-5 at the Fashion Show Mall stage and are on the hour. Â Definitely a welcome breath of fresh air, and a must see!
