I am pleased to introduce to you a very inspiring young designer, Isabella Rose Taylor. She is a fine artist and fashion designer from Austin, Texas who is attracting top national press attention for her art and hippie-grunge inspired original clothing for teen girls. Her 2014 line for girls ages 10-16 will be displayed this week here at MAGIC. Here is the kicker: she is only 12 years old!
At the age of 8, she attended a sewing camp and fell in love instantly. After learning to sew, she was able to follow her passion by first creating fashion illustrations and then original pieces based off of them. At age 9 she started high school, and was able to graduate at an accelerated pace by attending a mix of schools both online and private. She is currently attending college in Austin. (!!!)
In addition to fashion designing, Isabella is an established painter , with works available in Dallas galleries, and Art.net. She doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t creating something. Her love for art and self-expression definitely spills over into her love for fashion.
Her 2014 junior’s line is flowing, fun, and inspired by nature. “I love going camping with my family”, says Isabella. “Being out in nature and the wild definitely helps to inspire me.”
My absolute favorite statement piece from this collection is her Elliot Kimono, made of lightweight silk georgette fringe. This is amazing!!! I want it yesterday! So luxurious and ethereal at the same time. Isabella said she fell in love with the material, and the rest was history.
Isabella’s favorite things to do when she visits Las Vegas are see Cirque and Broadway shows, and shop. “It’s fashion heaven here,” she says. Agreed.
Here is my favorite quote by this talented young soul:
